What this DRAM and NAND price tracker measures

The price lines are official Bank of Korea dollar-basis export-price indices, each normalized so 2020 equals 100. They show the direction and scale of export-price changes, not an absolute DRAM or NAND chip price.

This is not a spot-price, contract-price, HBM-price, or price-per-gigabyte chart. KITA DRAM and NAND export values are displayed separately to help distinguish price and product-mix effects from a broad trade contraction.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a DRAM spot-price chart?

No. The DRAM series is the Bank of Korea dollar-basis export-price index with 2020 equal to 100. It is not an absolute chip price, spot quote, contract price, or HBM price.

What does the DRAM price index measure?

It measures monthly changes in the Bank of Korea’s dollar-basis DRAM export-price index. An index value describes movement relative to the 2020 base; it does not state a price per chip, gigabyte, or kilogram.

Does the NAND series show absolute NAND flash prices?

No. The price series is the Bank of Korea flash-memory export-price index, while the separate trade series reports KITA NAND export value. Neither is an absolute NAND spot or contract price.

Can reported export weight be treated as bit shipments?

No. Customs weight can change with packaging and product mix, so it is retained only as a secondary price-and-mix diagnostic and must not be interpreted as semiconductor bit volume.

How often is the memory-cycle data updated?

The tracker is updated as the monthly Bank of Korea and KITA observations are ingested and reviewed. The latest official period and snapshot-generation time are shown at the top of this page.
